Description

Assessing and Diagnosing HVAC Systems and Building Performance This day long session is designed to assist HVAC Contractors, Raters, Building Performance Professionals to Assess HVAC performance. The program is designed to closely follow the recently released ASHRAE Standard 221-2020 and Includes CA t-24 and RESNET 380 protocols and requirements when assessing HVAC and Building Performance.

For more information and to register:

ASHRAE Standard 221-2020 provides a standardized and reviewed series of methodologies to field measure and estimate the capacity, the efficiency and to score the performance of an installed heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning system. The purpose is explained in the ASHRAE document: “An installed system’s performance deteriorates because of less-than-perfect design and installation practices and poor maintenance. System airflow may be below the volume specified; system static pressures may be above the maximum allowable; duct systems may be undersized, poorly installed, or damaged; refrigeration circuits may be incorrectly charged; and combustion deficiencies may prohibit the delivery of equipment rated capacity.” The methodologies described and shown assist the Performance contractor with an industry standard set of procedures to investigate installed System performance of Furnaces, Heat pumps and Air conditioners either Split systems or package units. The session includes gathering the necessary data: Airflow rates, Static Pressures, System Temperatures, Electrical systems (fan and system watts).
