seminars.sdge.com This four-part seminar starts with the practical fundamentals and theory behind basic air conditioning and heat pump systems and systematically moves through the process involved for Quality Installation, Quality Maintenance and Quality Service of residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems as they apply to the California market. This evening series provides comprehensive skills required to properly install, commission, maintain, service, diagnose and verify that the air conditioning and heat pump systems are safe, reliable and operate at the highest capacity and energy efficiency possible. Seminar Highlights: Practical Fundamentals and Theory of the Refrigeration Circuit will review the basic physical properties of air conditioning Common definitions used in the trade Psychrometrics Comfort index indoor air quality Refrigerant properties Practical fundamentals and theories used in all air conditioning and heat pump systems Target Audience: HVAC contractors Designers Installers Learning Level: Intro to advance Speaker: Dave Highland has more than 35 years of expertise in the HVAC industry. His career includes almost every aspect in the trade from equipment installation, servicing and estimating, to service manger and owner of a small C-20 contracting firm. Dave is a certified Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rater and holds Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certifications. In addition, he has a Vocations Studies teaching credential from California State University Long Beach. Dave served with the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion as a Construction Electrician and was an HVAC service instructor (Ret.) for the Sheet Metal Workers Local #105 Southern California.
