Part 3 of 6 - March 16, 2023 (8am - 12pm) This four-hour class assumes that you have made the decision to align your air and thermal boundary at the exterior crawlspace stem walls and grade (rather than the subfloor). For most existing homes this is a realignment of the air barrier and insulation systems. In this class we will discuss some of the energy and non-energy benefits to this approach and practical installation techniques. 

We will cover how to create an air barrier at the exterior stem walls and grade. Instructor Gavin Healy of Balance Point Home Performance will review the necessary steps to eliminate existing foundation vents and present on the high-performance insulation systems appropriate for wood frame stem walls, concrete stem walls and grade insulation.
